North Saskatchewan River Sturgeon Fishing Charters have come to an end until further notice. The Boat is in for repairs at Gibbons Motor Toys and we will be rescheduling bookings until repairs are completed.
Marks North Saskatchewan River Sturgeon Fishing Charter started out covering 15 miles of river looking for sturgeon before hooking into one. The river had risen a couple inches shifting some fish out of the thulwag. Another 25 miles later we located and hooked up four more including a 52 incher. The boat broke down however and cut the charter short. They boated 5 lake sturgeon 1 mooneye and 1 walleye in 2hrs.
The Jackson clan launched into a wall of thick smoke and fog this morning to shatter a family lake sturgeon record and achieve some first time goals. Record class mooneye dominated the seams accompanied by large goldeye and occasional walleye. They boated 6 sturgeon 6 mooneye 6 goldeye 2 walleye and trapped 12 gophers The North Saskatchewan River remains below normal flow rates.
The Jackson Clan boated 5 lake sturgeon today while fishing despite several predator species taking the bait and covering over 55 miles of river. The North Saskatchewan River is below normal flow rates and ginning out has increased fish predator by catch numbers lots. Additional species included walleye goldeye mooneye and longnose.
Gary and Steve booked 4 days of North Saskatchewan River lake sturgeon fishing and traveled from Michigan to get them of their bucket list. Super high winds, 2 foot chop, and poplar fuzz reduced their chances to read the bite. They managed to boat 8 sturgeon 8 walleye and 1 shorthead redhorse in 4hrs on day one.
Gary and Steve invited Harley to join them on day four of their North Saskatchewan River Lake Sturgeon Fishing trip.The North Saskatchewan River is running at below normal flow rates and has shifted fish around lots. 8 lake sturgeon 4 walleye 2 mooneye and 1 silver redhorse passed through the live well. They removed 7 species from their list including this double header.
Heavy rain on the North Saskatchewan River later turned into a sunny one. Gary and Steve boated 5 lake sturgeon while trying to keep several other fish species from removing the bait including 5 mooneye 4 walleye 2 shorthead redhorse 1 silver redhorse.
Day two on the North Saskatchewan River removed additional species from Gary and Steves bucket list. The weather allowed us to fish several locations in a 80 mile run. Fishing seams and shorelines they boated 11 lake sturgeon 6 walleye 2 shorthead redhorse 2 mooneye and 1 sauger. The river continues to gin out and by catch predator numbers are increasing.
What great way to spend Canada Day fishing the North Saskatchewan River with Chris Casie and Kim. Boating double headers that included 9 lake sturgeon 14 shorthead redhorse 4 walleye 3 mooneye 1 longnose and 1 goldeye. Went back to camp to barbeque and to chill out due to the excessive heat before the evening fishing. The river is running at normal flow rates but ginning out and the predator species by catch while targeting sturgeon continues to increase.
Ian Scotty and Rod got into several North Saskatchewan River lake sturgeon fishing, despite high winds and some early morning rain. They covered 55 miles of river to boat 23 lake sturgeon 6 shorthead redhorse 4 walleye 1 longnose 1 silver redhorse 1 goldeye and 1 mooneye
North Saskatchewan River Guide and Trout Unlimited Canada Edmonton Chapter partnered and donated a North Saskatchewan River Lake Sturgeon fishing trip for the 2014 auction. Barry Ron and Floyd bought the Lake Sturgeon fishing trip and boated 10 lake sturgeon 8 shorthead redhorse 2 walleye 1 mooneye 1 goldeye and 1 longnose despite minimized oppurtunities. High winds plus poplar fuzz set the pace for the day much of which was spent cleaning eyelets and fishing lines They where rewarded with this 54 incher as the last fish of the day.
